Microsoft Xbox Handheld

There has been much debate on weather an Xbox handheld system is a possibility.
I personally like the idea of being able to play my favorite Xbox titles on the go.
I recently found a question on the internet about this and here are my thoughts:

I agree, this would be a good thing for Microsoft to do. Sony and Nintendo currently hold the hand held gaming market, where as Microsoft is still leading the consoles with the affordable Xbox 360 versus the expensive Playstation 3 and the unsatisfied Wii. But I think a hand held is still in the cards for Microsoft at this point, and I don't think there is any reason why there shouldn't be a hand held xbox. Can you image walking down the street playing Halo 3? (sorry but multiplayer may be out of the question...psp ring any bells?) Or on the subway breaking the sound barrier with Hawx? Or even under your desk in class gunning down a mob of zombies with your buddy across the room on co-op (local co-op is a more likely possibility than any matchmaking services unless Microsoft could incorporate the Live feature into a hand held system.) In my many years of gaming I have yet to see Microsoft release a hand held video game system, and I would like to see that. The main argument at discussion is really the technology, can we make the technology that small while still holding the game and the graphical expectations of the Xbox 360? Who knows? But if Microsoft could pull this off I would certainly buy this, this would absolutely murder the DS (considering all of the awful games, c'mon what's next barber simulator?) And the PSP went wrong with a single analog stick ( How hard can it be Sony?) If Microsoft took an Xbox 360 remote and smashed a screen with a miniature disc in it it would be a hit. No questions asked, assuming they can deliver the game quality that they have been giving us since 2001. An Xbox hand held is most likely to be invented in late 2010 I would say, and it will be a big hit when it does come into market.

Tell me what you think.

Prototype

Prototype is about a genetically-mutated, shape-shifting weirdo named Alex Mercer. Alex has no memories of his past, or his origins. As Alex you have to tear through New York City while trying to find out the mystery behind his existence. The player has a choice to blend in with the crowd in the game, or run through New York City with powers blazing, causing mass destruction around the city. Players should get used to snapping military vehicles in half and shredding soldiers apart with their newly-found abilities. Like Grand Theft Auto players will easily be distracted by the mindless fun found in the torture and destruction of innocent civilians. Players can also take a break off of killing by attending a roof-top race. Combat is not limited to powers and superhuman fists, Alex will also have the ability to pick up weapons from people and shoot them, but who cares when you can throw a tank? Players will have the choice to hunt down additional targets during a mission or free play that will unlock further memories that fit into a chain of memories. Prototype will be a good game with a good replay value, similar to Crackdown. I would recommend this game to people that do not have live, or just like to play single player. And don't forget this game goes public in 13 days on January 9th. See you in Manhattan gamers!

Modern Warfare 2

The second installation in the Modern Warfare series of Call of Duty. The original Modern Warfare was a hit when it was released, I used to play it a ton and I know a ton of people that still play it. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 promises to bring the same fluid controls, action-packed scenarios, and high-valued replay-ability as the first Modern Warfare. Modern Warfare 2 looks to implement new types of gameplay with new weather and terrain modes, such as desert, and artic. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will also implement a vehicle system which was lost when Call of Duty 4 was released, and then resurected for Call of Duty 5. Modern Warfare 2 almost completely drops the "Call of Duty" logo, but that is a good thing. Remember the respawn of terrorists in the past Call of Duty games? A constant stream of enemies due to a constant respawn until you advanced to a certain point, it was annoying as hell, they scrapped that. Singleplayer will be that much easier for those of you who had problems taking down a lot of enemies at a time. Anyways, without further a due, your review.

I think Modern Warfare 2 has a large amount of potential on 2009's last quarter market. First person shooting games have been big hits for a long time, and Call of Duty has become a popular title among gamers in the past decade or so. Modern Warfare 2 brings a new level of play to the world of Call of Duty. Modern Warefare 2 will feature vehicles such as snow mobiles, which promises intense, skill-based combat. Modern Warfare 2 introduces a new storyline for players to enjoy, where the familiar sergeant Soap heads off against a new threat. As of now there is no cooperative mode for the single player campaign, but there is a confirmed co-op mode for the "special forces" mode, which is the equivalent of the "mile high club" epilouge of the first Modern Warefare, with more missions. Mission environments for the campaign mode include Brazil, Russia, and Afghanistan. Overall I think this game is going to be big on the market up until the 3rd quarter of next year. I will most likely purchase this game, and if not I will rent it and write up a proper Review for you guys.

Borderlands - Hopes/Background Information

Just pre-ordered my copy of Borderlands, a game I have been watching since 2007 and have been anxious to play since that September issue of Game Informer. Gearbox is about to usher in a new wave of video game genre. Borderlands is what the people of the video game world call a ''hybrid'' genre. It is a cross-breed between a first person shooter and a role playing game. Borderlands is goign to bring a new type of world to your xbox 360, playstation 3, or computer, with its fully open world without loading screens. Gearbox confirms that there will be no loading screens after you have started the game. One of the major features of Borderlands is the Diablo style of terrain and land. The land is randomly generated each time, similar to Diablo, however the towns will remain the same, to save some time searching for that damned weapons vendor upon returning to town. For those of you who haven't been keeping up to date on Borderlands you will be amazed by the relativity to the movie Mad Max. In a desert-like world called Pandora, much like the post-apoctalyptic world of Mad Max, you take on the role of either Mordecai a hunter, Roland a soldier, Lilith a siren, and Brick a tank. All of these characters have their own classes(explained further) and storylines, as well as their own specialties and abilities. Like most RPG style games the player will spend a good amount of time doing quests for various rewards such as weapons, armor, or even a new piece of the story. A new, interesting feature implemented in Borderlands is vehicular combat. The player will be able to get their own vehicle, buy parts for it, and customize it and then man it with their crew. Players will also be rejoiced to create their own characters with the character customization feature. One of the main highlights of this game, which caught my eye when I read the Game Informer article back in Spetember of 07' was the half a million and counting number of weapons. The player will be able to create anything from a dart shooting rifle to a rocket shooting revolver, with still 650,000 more possibilities of weapons, along with about 650,000 possible customizations of armor. Borderlands promises to pack a punch when it is released this September, I'll be online the day it comes out to tell you all how it is.

Classes:
Hunter(Mordecai) - The lone ranger, preferring to snipe enemies from afar. Some of his special abilities include augmenting the party's damage and giving accuracy boosts. Later in the game, he will befriend an alien creature that will assist in combat

Soldier(Roland) -
Soldier's abilities are meant to supplement and support the party. His Leadership skill can boost the party's experience gains, while his Medical skill will increase health regeneration, and Support will increase weapon damage or regenerate ammunition for the party. The soldier class is the only class that doesn't have to worry about ammo as a special backpack produces an infinite supply.

Siren(Lilith) -
Essentially the mage of the group, Siren powers support the group and attack the enemy. Some of her powers include the ability to increase the group's rate of fire, as well as the power to create temporal bubbles, which she can manipulate to slow down enemies and hostile projectiles or speed up allies.

Tank(Brick) - A massive specimen of a man who likes to use his fists to smash the enemy above all else. He wears a necklace around his neck adorned with the paw of his beloved deceased dog. He fills in the tank niche and can take quite a beating as well having the ability to chug berserker-state inducing pills for short bursts of power.

Some of that information came from various places on the internet including WikiPedia.
